Scholarships Awarded by the University of Illinois

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign awards over 1,500 scholarships annually based on a variety of factors including academic achievement, talent, leadership, geographical location, field of study, and financial need.

You are encouraged to search our scholarship database to review the scholarship opportunities that are available. Application procedures vary, so be sure to follow the procedures and apply by the dates indicated.

Academic departments, colleges, and Undergraduate Admissions award many of the University merit-based scholarships. For most of these scholarships, your Undergraduate Application for Admission is the only application you need to complete to be considered. The department/college will review the application of the students in their curricula and select scholarship recipients based on this information.

OSFA also awards a number of scholarships. These scholarships generally have a demonstrated financial need requirement, but may also have other requirements including academic achievement, high school or college grades, ACT/SAT test scores, geographic (hometown/high school) location, field of study, or other restrictions. Students should submit a FAFSA to be considered. To be fully considered for all awards, students should also complete the Undergraduate Scholarship Supplement Form. This form collects supplemental information that is used in the selection of recipients for restricted scholarship funds. The Undergraduate Scholarship Supplement Form should only be completed once and the information is kept for five years.
