Summer 2018 Financial Aid Disbursement and Refund Information

  • Beginning Monday, May 7, please check your University Student Account at UI-Integrate Self-Service to see your summer university charges along with any aid that has been credited to your account.
  • Your summer financial aid (scholarships, grants, tuition waivers, and loans) will be applied to your University Student Account and any excess financial aid remaining after your balance is paid will generate a refund. You must be enrolled in Direct Deposit to receive your refund. Once enrolled, your Direct Deposit information does not need to be updated unless your banking information has changed. You should be prepared to purchase your textbooks and cover your living expenses on your own.  Your refund should be budgeted to last the entire semester.
    • If your summer classes begin on May 14, your summer financial aid will be credited to your University Student Account beginning Sunday, May 6.  Any refund should be available by Friday, May 11.

    • If your summer classes begin on June 11, your summer financial aid will be credited to your University Student Account beginning Sunday, June 3.  Any refund should be available by Friday, June 16.

    • If your summer classes begin on a date other than May 14 or June 11, your summer financial aid will be credited 7 to 10 days before the beginning date of your summer classes.  Financial aid is disbursed on Sunday and Wednesday nights.  Any refund should be available five days later.

  • Your summer cost of attendance and financial aid awards are calculated based on your credit hours of enrollment.  Undergraduate students must be registered and maintain registration for at least 6 hours and graduate/professional students must be registered and maintain enrollment for at least 3 hours.  If you reduce your enrollment, your cost of attendance and financial aid awards may be reduced and you will be required to repay any financial aid funds to the University that you are not eligible to receive. Additional information about adding/dropping classes can be found at http://www.registrar.illinois.edu/summer-refund-schedule-18
  • Notification to view your Summer 2018 tuition bill will be sent on June 13.  Summer 2018 charges are due June 28. Summer 2018 charges for students enrolled in the Carle Illinois College of Medicine are due July 28.  Contact University Student Financial Services and Cashier Operations at usfscohelp@uillinois.edu or 217-333-2180 with questions regarding your Student Account balance, third party payments, College Illinois, or 529 plans.
  • If you have completed a Summer 2018 Financial Aid Application and have not received your Summer 2018 Financial Aid Award Letter, please review your outstanding financial aid requirements in UI-Integrate Self-Service. Processing for students who have concurrent enrollment with Parkland College or intercampus enrollment at UIC or UIS will be delayed until enrollment is confirmed at all schools.  Processing for students who did not meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements in a previous semester will be delayed until after May 22 so that Spring 2018 SAP monitoring can occur.  If you have received your Award Letter, but your financial aid did not credit to your student account, make sure you have accepted aid offered to you, and have completed all outstanding requirements listed on your Award Letter.
  • To remain eligible for financial aid, you must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Review the SAP Policy  before dropping or adding credit hours to your schedule.

If you have Financial Aid questions, contact OSFA at finaid@illinois.edu or 217-333-0100.
