Parkland Concurrent Enrollment

As a participant in concurrent enrollment at Parkland College, you must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign during the fall or spring terms to be eligible for financial aid. To receive financial aid for the courses, you must also:

  • Be enrolled for more credit hours at Illinois than at Parkland for fall and spring semesters. To receive institutional financial aid funds, you must be enrolled at least 12 hours at Illinois.
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours total (3 at Illinois and 3 at Parkland is acceptable) between the 2 institutions during the summer term.
  • Report any changes in your enrollment at Parkland to us.
  • Have an official transcript sent from Parkland College to Illinois within 2 weeks after completing your term of enrollment.

To receive financial aid based on your concurrent enrollment at Parkland, you must:

  1. Complete and submit the FAFSA.
  2. Complete the Parkland Financial Aid Concurrent Enrollment Agreement.
  3. Obtain the required signature from your college.
  4. Submit the form to the Parkland College Office of Financial Aid, who will then forward it to us for processing.

Your eligibility for federal and state financial aid funds will be revised according to your combined credit hours at Illinois and Parkland, and your combined tuition and fees in accordance with financial aid program restrictions.

You’ll receive an email from us when your revised Financial Aid Notification is available.

Concurrent enrollment awarding is done manually based on the tuition and fees of both Illinois and Parkland. The financial aid adjustments based on additional hours at Parkland can’t be processed until after the add/drop dates, which affect the tuition charges at both institutions. Typically, you can expect to have your financial aid adjusted by early October for the fall semester and early or mid-February for the spring semester.

As the degree-granting institution, Illinois will disburse your total financial aid eligibility to you. All aid will be credited to your Illinois student account, and payments will be made toward your university charges first. A refund check for the excess, if any, will be credited to your bank account through direct deposit. It will be your responsibility to pay Parkland for tuition and fees.
