2025 Student Employee of the Year Eligibility and Nomination Guidelines
Nominate an Outstanding Student Employee Today!
The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) invites you to nominate an exceptional undergraduate student employee for the 2025 Student Employee of the Year Award. This award recognizes students who have made significant contributions to the campus community.
Celebrate with Us During National Student Employment Week: April 14th – 18th, 2025
Eligibility
- Currently employed on campus as an undergraduate hourly student worker.
- Employed for a minimum of six months between June 1, 2024, and May 17, 2025.
Selection Criteria
We will evaluate nominees based on their exceptional performance in one or more of the following areas:
- Community Service: Does the student employee actively give back to the campus or local community?
- Diversity & Inclusion: Does the student employee promote a welcoming and inclusive environment?
- Leadership: Does the student employee take initiative and inspire others?
- Technology & Innovation: Does the student employee effectively utilize technology to improve processes or services?
- Critical Thinking: Does the student employee approach problems thoughtfully and creatively?
Nomination Process
We encourage you to nominate deserving student employees by Friday, March 7, 2025. To nominate a student, please submit the following information:
- Nomination Form: Please complete the Nomination Form
- Nomination Letter: Briefly describe why the student is deserving of this award and how they exemplify the award criteria.
Please submit all nomination materials by email to Maddie Sheppard at mas21@illinois.edu. Emailed nominations must come from the nominator’s University email address.
Announcement of Winner
Winners will be chosen on an overall student employee basis. The winner and runner-up will be announced during the National Student Employment Week (April 14th-18th)
Recognition Ceremony on Friday, April 18, 2025. All nominees and nominators will be notified via email in March.

The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) invites you to nominate an exceptional undergraduate tutor for the 2025 tutor of the Year Award. This award recognizes students who have made significant contributions to the UIUC campus & community.
Celebrate with Us During National Student Employment Week: April 14th – 18th, 2025
Eligibility
- Currently employed on as an undergraduate hourly student worker.
- Employed for a minimum of six months between June 1, 2024, and May 17, 2025.
Selection Criteria
