Fall 2019 Financial Aid Disbursement and Refund Information

  • August 18, financial aid will begin to be released to your student account. August 19, check UI-Integrate Self-Service to review university charges and credited aid.
  • By August 23, any excess financial aid remaining after your balance is paid should be refunded to you. You must be enrolled in Direct Deposit to receive it expediently. Budget accordingly, your refund must last the entire semester.
  • OSFA assumes students are enrolled full time in at least 12 hours (8 hours for on-line/off-campus programs). If registered less than full time, use the “Request Changes” option on your Award Letter in UI-Integrate Self-Service to tell us the number of hours you are registered for.
  • As of midnight on the 10th day of the semester (September 9 for fall 2019), recipients of the Federal Pell Grant must be registered for 12 hours or the grant will be reduced. The state of Illinois MAP Grant requires enrollment of 15 hours each semester or the grant will be reduced.
  • If you have not received your Award Letter, review your outstanding financial aid requirements in UI-Integrate Self-Service.
  • If your financial aid did not credit to your student account as anticipated: make sure you are registered for the correct number of hours, have accepted offered aid, have completed all outstanding requirements, and are making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Review the SAP Policy before dropping or adding credit hours.
  • Graduate students receiving assistantships, fellowships, or waivers must have awards entered into the system by their department before funds can be applied towards university charges. If you have financial aid questions, contact OSFA at finaid@illinois.edu or 217-333-0100.
